I qualified in 1977 and worked
at Charing Cross and St Helier hospitals until starting my GP
training in 1982 in the lower Morden area. I joined Benhill and
Belmont surgery in 1983. In 1987 I became, and still am, a GP trainer. In 2000 I was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of GPs.
During my time in the practice I have also worked with the PCT and local hospitals to try and provide more integrated care particularly in maternity services and older people's mental health. I am clinical champion for older people within the Sutton and Merton PCT.
I am also interested in joint working with other GP practices and chair one of the local Practice Based Commissioning groups (Nelson Commissioning Group). |
Dr Adnan Malik

| I qualified in 1979 and have
worked in various hospitals. I did my GP training locally and
completed this training in 1993 and have been at the Benhill and
Belmont GP Centre since 1996. My special interests are: minor
surgery, care of the elderly and occupational health. |

I qualified from the University of
Ceylon, Colombo, and did all my postgraduate clinical training in
the UK. My special interests are: diabetes, women’s health and child
health. I gained my MFFP (Member of the Faculty of Family Planning)
in 1976 and have been an instructor of Family Planning at St Helier
Hospital. I am a fully trained forensic medical examiner and have
worked at the Medical GU Centre at St Helier Hospital. My experience
also includes 17 years of developmental paediatrics based in Epsom
and Ewell.
I have been at the Benhill and Belmont GP Centre since 1996. |

I qualified from Charing Cross
Hospital Medical School in 1975 and undertook my general practice
training in various hospitals in the west of London, and in a
practice in Barnes. I completed this at the end of 1978, having also
gained a diploma in child health. I spent two years working both in
community paediatrics and general practice, in England and in
Australia, then worked in general practice in Scotland for 20 years,
becoming a principal in 1987.
I joined Benhill and Belmont in 2001, and have particular interests
in diabetes, dermatology, and teaching of undergraduates form St
George's Hospital Medical School. |

| I qualified from St George’s Hospital, London, in 1989. After gaining experience in Medical and Elderly care specialities, I joined the Benhill and Belmont surgery in 2001. My current additional interests include General Practice Training and Teaching. I am also a General Practitioner with Special Interest (G.P.S.I.) in Musculoskeletal Medicine.

Dr Hazel DeBono

| I studied medicine at Glasgow University and graduated MBchB
in 1989. I continued further training in Glasgow, passing exams for
DRCOG in 1992 and MRCGP in 1993. I continued to practice in Glasgow
for the following 7 years. After a 3 year career break I joined the
practice team here in 2003. |

| I qualified from the University of Dundee, Scotland, in 1978
and did
my GP training and worked in general medicine and general practice in England.
I also spent some time working abroad. I returned to general practice in the UK in 2004 and have been working at the Benhill & Belmont GP Centre for the last two years.
My special interests include: diabetes and asthma. |
Dr Annie Ilves

| I undertook my
medical training at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London,
during which time I also took a BSc in neuroscience. I qualified (MBBS)
in 1990. Following this, I joined the 3 year Vocational Training
Scheme at Ealing Hospital. Soon after qualifying as a GP I had my
first child and subsequently took a career break. I returned to
general practice at the Benhill and Belmont GP Centre in 2003 and in
2005 gained MRCGP. I work part-time at both sites and my areas of
particular interest are: mental health, child health and
anticoagulation. |

| I qualified from the University of
Sri Lanka, Kandy, in 1975. I have worked in various hospitals in
Sri Lanka and in the UK. I completed my GP training and gained MRCGP
in 1994 and joined the Home Office Prison Medical Service as a
Prison Medical Officer in 1996. I gained a Diploma in Addictive
Behaviour (St. George’s Hospital Medical School) in 1997, and a
Diploma in Prison Medicine in 1999. Following my 'GP returner scheme
training' at the practice, I started working one day a week at
Benhill surgery in January 2006. |
