| How To See The Doctor |
You may consult any doctor if you have an urgent or special problem. However,
we prefer patients to see their own doctor when possible. Patients should attend
the surgery that they have registered at as their notes will be kept there.
Arrangements can be made if you wish to change surgery. The doctor will see you
in surgery by appointment which can be made by calling or telephone between 8:30
am and 6.00 pm (Monday to Friday). Urgent cases can be seen the same day,
otherwise you will be given the first available appointment. If you cannot keep
your appointment please let us know so that it may be offered to someone else.

Telephone Consultations |
We believe that some consultations can be perfectly well undertaken without
face-to-face contact. It is often possible to deal with minor problems,
general health queries and follow-ups by phone. We are trying to make this type
of consultation more available. The receptionist may suggest a telephone
consultation and patients are welcome to request one themselves.

Requests for Visits |
If you need a home visit please phone your surgery. The request will be
passed to your doctor. Whenever possible please phone between 8.30 and 10.00 am
so that visiting rounds may be planned efficiently.

When The Surgery is Closed |
If you need to contact a doctor on an urgent matter a doctor is always
available. Telephone the surgery and the recorded message will give you the
contact number. Always listen carefully. Our Out of Hours service is managed by
CROYDOC. This is a large group of local GPs
who take it in turn to be on-call. At present they are based at The Powell
Unit, St Helier Hospital. You should NOT go to The Powell Unit without having
phoned CROYDOC first. For legal reasons phone calls to CROYDOC are recorded and the tapes stored securely in case of need. |
